a good thing that paper can be recycled
Keyboard debouncing circuits?? Very fundamental.Uh Hello? Keyboards stop working you throw them away. Starts talking about Electroluminescent displays(EL'S??, whatever?) in the second chapter, before memory/hard disk/ or motherboard is even mentioned. Oh and the pages on "light pen technology" were very intriguing. Check that mouse and now its time to rip out your UART! Hey, at least I know how to change the crystal now. The book does not have very good diagrams, just a bunch of generic flow charts that talk about who knows what? Granted, the book talks about old technology but if I were stuck with an older IBM PC that had a problem, I dont think I would want to be stuck with this book as an only resource. It will show you how to scan a flatbed document though!

best book of its kind on the shelf!
a no-nonsense book replete with technical diagrams, this book answers most questions a person making hardware repairs would ever ask. i've loaned my copy out several times; each time, the borrower has asked where he could get a copy. amazon.com, of course!
