Dear Burger Flipper....
The book does assume some technical background, but you were not even close to reading the correct book (or taking the correct test) if you wish to make web pages. I think you were thinking of the i-Net+ certification. It is more related to the Internet than networking concepts. This book does a good job at giving what you need to pass the Network+ exam and to help you get your foot in the door to starting your career.

Another Win For Mr. Meyers
Mike has made it even easier to get the cerifications yet again. This book is a quick and easy read for all the computer nerds and it makes things easier. Everything in this book was in the practice exam I took and i passed it with flying colors. He goes in to detail about Bus Topologies and Ethernet all of witch I will be using. He also does a good job of describing the seven OSI layers. Which i know that can get confusing. The check points at the end of each chatper are easy and a great way to check how much you abosrbed though the reading. Also it tells you what you need to go over again. I kind of wish he went in to more detail of fiber but there weren't many fiber qestions on the test. He also included a CD in the copy i got that had all the exam questions on it. This is truely a good book and a must if you need to pass the nework+ exam quikly. The hardware over view is a dry part of the book but there isn't a lot Mike can do about that. He also included a index in the back of the book for a quick find for what your looking for. If your taking the test or just want to know more about network I suggest this book to anyone. It's cheep and it's a good resourse if you for get something.

you can pass, just know the stuff
You can pass with this book, just make sure you have a pretty good grip on the stuff when you finish. It's a real good book for the exam, but skims over certain things you need to know more for the exam, but that's why they make bigger books too. peace.
