horrible, absolutely horrible!
This book I suppose is one of the only books were forced to use in the telecommunications field, but from a critical perspective, I have to say this book is horrible. There are computational errors throughout the book, and formula examples are not even explained. Numbers are used and there is no deriving where these numbers came from, so you have to spend time looking all over the net trying to figure it out. I'm a telecommunications student, and I would strongly suggest finding another book if you can, all I is that this book is doing is making my life hell. When you have to teach yourself the information, and there are errors all over the place, then you are being taught wrong, and as a result, you will suffer. Take my advice, look around and find something else, or the publisher should at least release a second edition with the errors corrected and better explanations of formulas. This is supposed to be an instructional book, and as far as I'm concerned they've taken a 'half-assed' approach at putting it together. And that's my two cents.

Hands on textbook
Although this text book is used with an accompanying lab manual, its technician level of detail helps to fill in voids left by other high level books. The author gives creditbility to the DeVry Institute which is listed under his name. Again this is a low level fundamentals book for the most part that seems to be used at Devry's.

Could be better...
While there's good info in this book, it's hard to find it easily. Good for adding it to your office shelf. But since it's kind of expensive I don't recommend it for the cassual reader.
