A cookbook NOT
Not the polished text one would expect from the publisher, but its superficial treatment of the subject is fine for the ex-dBase programmer exploring some of the post-III/IV features of dBase.

Visual dBASE Programming Limited
The title implies the book will be useful for programming in Visual dBASE, but it is limited to Visual dBASE 5.* I however am trying to learn Visual dBASE 7.*, and by chapter 3 I am already hung up. But the book never mentions that the language is limited to version 5.* So I am stuck with ...worthless code, just because the author and/or publisher was unwilling to specify the limitations of the book.

I HAD TO WAID THROUGH MARTINS LEXERS AND PARSERS WHICH HE DEVOTES MANY PAGES TO INORDER TO GLEAN SOME DBASE KNOWLEDGE - ITS DIFFICULT TO FOLLOW THE EXAMPLES
