Focuses too much on character recognition
If you are doing work in character recognition, I think you will find something useful here. Otherwise, skip this book and read Theodoridis's "Pattern Recognition". You will find a wealth of practical and theoretical information from all walks of pattern recognition in his book. In short, Nadler's book seems overly specialized, superficial, and dated.
