The definitive and concise guide to pre-ANSI C
Although Kernigham and Ritchie's "The C Programming Language" is the original reference for the language, W. David Schwaderer's treatment of the language is significantly more focused for the experienced programmer. His treatment of arrays and pointers is unmatched by any other reference since. I purchased my copy before embarking in a two-year project for Bell Communications Research - the mother lode of experienced C programmers. Time and time again I ran circles around the other designers and coders using this as my primary reference. Alhough, apparently, not updated to reflect the additional complexities of the ANSI standard and C++, buy this book as your first supplement to K&R. You will not be disappointed !
