Customer ReviewsRating: 2 out of 5 Yeah.... This guide was really hard to follow, but I suppose that would be expected since there are many things to do in the game in no particular order. But still...this is pretty terrible. There is a lot of crucial information that is left out of this guide. Of course, if you were to go online for a walkthrough, there would be things left out or incorret. However, getting a guide online would be free. Really, don't bother with this, unless you have the money to spare. The pictures and presentation are pretty, but that's about it.\ Rating: 3 out of 5 Could have been more helpful I personally bought this strategy guide and used it to help me throughout the game. It gives you an in-depth walkthrough and a 100% completion guide that is very helpful. The other good thing about the guide is the in-depth coverage of the mini-games. From the Calm Lands games to Blitzball to Gunner's Gauntlet and others, this guide covers them all. Well most of them at least. It has it's flaws. Here are my problems with the guide:Some parts are missing. I personally am one of the people who likes to play a FF game and beat the hardest bosses and get all the best items/accessories. The problem is that there's NO info on how to get each garment grid. I found myself having to go to various sites on the net to find this info (the whole reason I bought the guide was so that I wouldn't have to go on the internet for help). Accessories - The guide tells you the name of each accessory, the sale price, and all of its effects. The problem is that it doesn't tell you where and how to get each one. When I pay $14 for a guide then I expect it to be worth it. Garment Grids - At the front of the guide there's a diagram of each garment grid and it explains all of its effects. The problem is the same as the one with the accessories. It doesn't tell you where to get them. For example, the guide doesn't tell you where or how to get "The End" Garment Grid which is one of the best in the game. I went through the game using this guide and got all the ones covered in the walkthrough and still found myself missing several of them. Via Infinito - For this extremely challenging dungeon the strategy guide simply tells you to be Lv 99 and have at least 9000 HP. It doesn't give you ANY sort of strategy whatsoever for the difficult bosses that you will have to face in this dungeon. Each level of the dungeon is a puzzle and the guide doesn't even touch on how to solve them. Neither does it tell you what items and accessories can be acquired in this area(including the incredible Iron Duke accessory). The poor coverage of Via Infinito led me to believe that the guy who wrote this guide didn't even beat it himself. Overall I don't recommend you buy this guide unless you only want to beat the game and not get everything. If you want to do everything in the game then you would be better off going to gamefaqs.com for a guide. Also if you don't have a reliable internet connection then you should buy this guide. I only bought it because I didn't want to have to run back and forth to my PC while I was playing the game. Other than that don't get it, it's not worth $14. Rating: 4 out of 5 Good but False I have been a FF person all my life, so I had to get the game and the book. Dan Birlew is one of my most favorite authors in the Stragedy guide book section, but this was one of his worst. Unlike Kingdom Hearts, he made many flaws, and a couple not true statements. Although the bestiary and guide through the game is good, he doesn't show all the main characters like Nooj, Gippal, or Baralai for instance. Also in the guide an error is in the part to get a book for that big thing in Djose in chapter 5. Many errors were also made especially in the mini-games section. Although it is a complete guide and gives a walkthrough through the whole thing except for the last battle in the game which is against Shuyin and the guide for 100% part were not in there and flawed, I gave it a 4 star rating for it because I've seen other guide books and believe me, either I couldn't understand them, or they didn't give enough information.
