Customer ReviewsRating: 4 out of 5 Don't turn around; reconnaissance in town I'm not going to recap the plot since many reviewers have done that already. I didn't realize there was a second book, but having enjoyed the 1st and 3rd I'll definitely go back and check it out .... When I read the first book I kept comparing it to Harry Potter--after getting through the third I realized that it skews one's take on the Fowl books to compare it to Harry Potter because it's really not like those books other than involving some magic and an adolescent boy. This book was a high-tech crime adventure, stil adhering to the Fowl Rules of Magic, but not entrenching the reader in a compelte magical universe as do the Potter books. (Come on, you've said Alohamora when you've unlocked a door) Whereas the Potter books are set in modern times but retain an old-fashioned fairy tale quality (quills for writing, anyone? I'll take my muggle computer) whereas Artemis's modern world is more like that of "Misson Impossible." So forget about Harry Potter and his world for a moment.....This book seems to have more sophisticated humor, social commentaries and pop culture references, and characterization than the first. I'm looking forward to reading the 2nd book and seeing what I missed. Rating: 4 out of 5 Clever computer geek! Eion Colfer came out with his latest fantasy book, Artemis Fowl Eternity Code.In this book Artemis Fowl's father was held captive by Mafia for two years, and his father said that he should not commit any crimes. But Artemis Fowl want to commit one more crime. He created a computer that can do fairy magic that was stolen with fairy technology fifty years before it was even made! It was called C cube. But a character named John Spiro made a trap, stole the computer, and killed a butler. Artemis, only hope is to make fairy magic for his friend Captain Holly of the fairy police. In conclusion this book is very good for ages 10-13. I myself like the book and all the others because it is so amazing with all these cool things. It is a good book.
