A must for those in Optical Networks & Systems!
The book is very clear in its presentation and contents. The Author makes it clear from the very beginning that it is not intented tobe a textbook, but a reference for further study in the field. Concepts are discussed in detail, but mathematics is left for Appendices, or References. Maybe a bit of quantification should help grasping concepts. Definetely a new edition would be welcome, especially to include optical amplifiers, which would modify several aspects of Optical Network design discussed in the text. (We'd like to have these suggestions forwarded to the Author). (The views expressed here are personal, and not necessarily shared by my employer)
