The Bible for IT Procurement and Implementation
This book is a must for those in the public sector who are responsible for or involved in procuring and implementing information technology. I have three copies of this invaluable handbook: (1) a copy at home;(2) a copy at work; and (3) a copy in my brief case. Strock and Adkins provide a practical guide covering all aspects of information technology selection, procurement, implementation, and utilization from a non-technical perspective. The book also provides commentary and samples which can serve as an invaluable tool for preparing IT needs assessments, specifications, request for proposals, and vendor evaluations. While focused on public sector IT, the concepts and methodologies contained in this handbook can easily be applied to private sector IT as well. I have applied the concepts in this book to IT procurements, both large and small, with great success. I highly recommend this book!
