This book is exactly what the tittle implies
This book is exactly what the tittle implies. It is a reference book for system administrators. It is not everything on NT or it would have to be three feet thick. It is not just a theory book. There are practical steps with clear graphics on how to. How to what you ask? How to do the things needed by an administrator and shows the administration tools needed for such items as Backup, DHCP, Disk admin, and DNS Manager Internet service. Because the NT is not as intuitive and straight forward as UNIX you need a book like this to tell you what they were thinking when they put NT together.

good, but not too involved
this book goes into a lot of topics, but handles a lot superficially. for the price and for a nutshell book, it is a good reference. but don't assume it will give you detailed information about all topics. all in all worth buying, but also get a more detailed book like minasi's server 4 or the equivalent for workstation.

Great overview of NT
This is a great book is you are looking to get into NT and haven't really worked with it before. You will definitely need to get other books if you want to delve into specifics (such as security, TCP/IP, etc.) try other O'Reilly books or Mark Minasi's HUGE Mastering Windows NT Server 4.0.It does need a second edition...
