A rough guide for a rough game
The game alone was hard and a bit strange. But the guide doesnt help much. The maps are good, but thats about all the guide is good for.

Worst Strategy Guide ever
I am in agreement with the first reviewer -- I was extremely disappointed in the quality of this guide, it is very poorly written and ridiculously clumsy. I have purchased other Brady games guides and they were excellent, so I was very surprised they would publish such a lousy guide. I will be much more careful next time, and remember the name of Dan Birlew -- to make sure I don't make the mistake of purchasing anything he has "written." This guide turned me off so much I am hesitant to purchase any guides again. The low quality of this guide resulted in my eventually hating the game.

A mediocre strategy guide at best
This strategy guide has pretty decent walkthroughs, as well as helpful arts lists. In particular, the sections on "sparking" are quite helpful. Unfortunately, there are several errata -- some of the command combinations for the arts are incorrect (3 of them, to be precise) -- just this little error caused me a good deal of frustration. Furthermore, there are an excesive number of errors elsewhere -- spelling errors, some of the "spark" charts are completely non-sensical, errors in the item listings on the area maps, incorrect attack powers for several of the arts, etc. I've purchased several other Brady Games strategy guides (Final Fantasy VII, VIII, and Tactics in particular), and I was very impressed with their thoroughness, appearance, and correctness. This strategy guide falls far short of that standard. Not only are there silly errors as stated above, the depth of information is disappointing. There are several aspects of the game only briefly mentioned that I think deserved more attention; in particular, the "roles" and their effects on learning arts, more information on combos (there is virtually no mention of this), and more details on the many factors that go into learning arts. In short, unlike other Brady Games strategy guides, this guide has little to offer above a simple FAQ that could be easily found on the web.
