Customer ReviewsRating: 1 out of 5 Don't buy this!!! Do not buy this book!!! I got royally hosed on this. Since it's in E-Book format, you download it to your computer. You cannot print it, and you cannot transfer it to another machine. I wanted to rebuild my machine, but I can't because I will lose the $... book. They give you instructions on how to transfer the book to a new computer, but the publisher says to talk to Adobe, and Adobe says to talk to the publisher. I've been running around in circles!!! Supposedly the software recognizes the layout and config of your hard drive, so if you change it, the book will not be readable. What a rip-off. I understand completely that the publisher doesn't want people passing around free copies of their book, but hey, now I'm stuck not being able to change my computer, upgrade my hard drive, etc. If you don't care, and the $... is expendible to you, then go for it, but don't ever plan on changing your system. I hope you never need more hard drive space. Rating: 3 out of 5 Not a Beginners book This is the most insightful IPSec book i have read to date but it is not a beginners book. The book is packed with so much knowledge that it sometimes does not take the time to give clear and concise examples of the theory. Throughout the book a list of references are used which are excellent. The book lacks some good examples with diagrams and is more of a dictionary on IPSec. I recommend this book to people who have at least some knowledge of IPSec. Rating: 4 out of 5 Very good book, but not ideal I have read most of the book and I found it refreshing to find an author who does not simply regurgitate the contents of the RFCs together with some nice diagrams, as some other IPsec books are apt to do. The author's authoritative insights into IPsec problems are very helpful, and a real effort seems to have been made to explain the various facets of IPsec. Helpful references are given throughout the book. Having said that, I have the book only 4 stars because despite the authors excellent effort, the book is still difficult to understand in some parts. In particular, the diagrams showing the various IPsec exchanges are somewhat uninspiring. This book in my view is worthy of shelf space, but will need to be read several times (probably in conjunction with another IPsc book) for the reader to gain a true understanding of the issues.
