A great book to stick in the fireplace...
This is not a begginers book at all. From the first chapter the author assumes you know about Oracle's architecture. I had no idea what he was talking about. Don't waste your time and money with this bbok. Oracle DBA 101 is hands-down the best book for novice and beginners.

please do not waste your money buying this book
This book is the most hopeless book i have ever encountered ever since i started reading oracle books.I have over 50 oracle books and this book is the worst of all.The book is not organized at all,and it lacks detailed information in all of the topics.It made so many assumptions even though it says it is for beginners.A much better book for beginners in my opinion is oracle dba 101 by marlene theriault.
