Customer ReviewsRating: 3 out of 5 Very Introductory When I bought this book, I was hoping to understand how to solve more complex interoperability problems between Java and C# (.Net) Web Services. I was disappointed. The book is for beginners, and that what it says on the back cover also, so no hard feelings. It feels like you have bought two introductory books, one for C# Web Services and another one for Java Web Services, and combined into one. The one thing that is childish about all Web Services books is that they all use simple examples (e.g. Stock Quote Web Service). Any one can implement that kind of Web Service by just reading on the Internet. Passing primitive types between two nodes is easy. No book in the market including this one teaches you how to send complex types between Java Web Service Server and C# client or vice versa. This book fails to teach you how to write your own serializers/deserializers in Java as well as how to parse the response in C#. The book provides very basic material about Apache SOAP, Apache Axis, and .Net C# environment. Don't expect anything extraordinary from this book. For most intermidiate to expert Web Services developers it does not matter if you own this book or not. It will not add any value to your existing knowledge of Web Services. For beginners I have only one advice, there is enough material on the Web to get you started, so save your money.
