You can pause your current test in progress by going to Action -> Pause Timer on the main menu, pressing CTRL + T, or click the Pause Timer icon on the testing toolbar (as pictured below).

You can restart the timer in your test by to Action -> Begin Timer on the main menu, pressing CTRL + T, or click the Play Timer icon on the testing toolbar (as pictured below).

Note: When the time in your test has passed below the 5 minute mark, the border of the timer will turn RED, as in the picture above.

Whether you can continue your test after time has expired can be toggled in the Timer Settings options. If you are allowed to continue your test after time has expired, you will see a confirmation dialog such as the one below, answer as you wish.

Whether you can pause the timer during a test can be toggled in the Timer Settings options.

You can control the look and feel of your timer in the Timer Appearance options.
